about me

I have always been interested in films and animation. So, it just seemed natural that I eventually ended up as an animator. I realized a little later that I was also interested in teaching as well. So for the last 10-12 years I have been teaching 3d animation softwares at various institutes.

In 2006, I started my own institute “Institute for Advanced animation”, so I could start teaching more customized courses which were based on market requirement. Since the softwares we use are fairly complex, I primarily concentrate on teaching software skills.

Over the years I got the chance to work on a variety of projects including “Dashaa-Avatar” an animation film. I also worked on Design visualization projects, motion graphics projects, industrial animations and also some medical renderings.

As far as softwares are concerned, I started in 1997 with 3d studio rel 3. A year later I started learning 3dsmax ver1. I used 3dsmax and vray for a majority of my work for almost 15 years. In 2007, I stumbled upon Houdini and was introduced to the world of Proceduralism. As time passed I started to specialize in Lighting and rendering.

As of 2014, I use Houdini as my primary 3d tool for all of my personal work. 3dsmax is mainly for all of the commercial projects that I work on, as India has very few studios using Houdini.

I recently started getting into live action work and so I finally started looking into editing and sound. I have made a couple of live-action short films, just to get my feet wet. I even started making recipe videos for my mother, to get some more variety of experience.

I would like to think of myself as an artist but I would usually leave that decision to the viewer.
